This Place We Live
The heavens are telling of the glory of God; and their expanse is declaring the work of His hands.
Day to day pours forth speech, and night to night reveals knowledge.
There is no speech nor are there words; their voice is not heard.
Their line has gone out through all the earth and their utterances to the end of the world. In them He has placed a tent for the sun. Psalm 19:1-4 NASB
On this life walk, I never cease to be amazed at the place our Abba God prepared for us to live. His wonders and marvels could engage a person’s mind for all of this life and beyond without ever coming to the end of learning.
Mind you, I don’t pretend to understand all of physics or chemistry or other difficult subjects, but the evidence of their existence is seen day to day. The sun goes about on its appointed path as do the stars and planets of other universes. We do not fly off into the blackness of space because of that wonderful thing…gravity.
I look at the leaves of trees and they are so diverse in shape, size, and color. Our Abba must have known we would become bored with all leaves being the same.
And oceans! Vast and deep. Shallow and treacherous. And the colors! Again no sea is exactly the same. And there is the stillness of a calm day, when it appears you could skate across that sea. Then the danger of a sea with all its fury, raging, rising, falling…
I get remarks that my stories and lessons put this creation forward…maybe in a preeminent place. The question surfaces, “Are you worshiping the creation?” That is not my intent. It isn’t what I do. Our Abba is a teacher. Our Yeshua was a rabbi, a teacher. Yeshua used the creation to tell stories and parables that would illustrate spiritual truth. The Word tells us that our God never changes, He is always the same. It seems normal to me that He would still be teaching, still using His creation to explain spiritual lessons…spiritual truth.
And that is my view of this Creation we live in. I can see Him in so many places. Sunrise…foretelling the coming of THE SON…seeds germinating and plants sprouting…resurrection and new life…stars in the blackness of space…representing Believers in a world of darkness…and on and on…
My prayer is that we all find Him, everyday, in our mundane, menial work. In our gardens. In our rest. In our walk. I fear I take Him for granted and I never want that. Maybe it is why I look…I most certainly find Him. This beautiful earth…this beautiful universe…it shouts the glory of God.
So I keep asking Him to just tell me, reveal His Word, teach me…
It’s my hope for us all…to see Him…to find Him…and for me, I learn best from His stories, His illustrations. I can understand best using this earth we walk in to explain those things I don’t understand…
Continually I realize creation speaks of a Mighty God, Creator and Sustainer of it. He speaks through it’s beauty and through it’s rough seasons, always letting us know He is there for us just reach and see the goodness of our Savior Jesus Christ!❤️
Wonderful as usual, Gwen! I completely understand and feel the same way. Sure do miss you.
