What Will I Choose?

Coming to a fork in the road or to a crossroads is hard for me…especially if I’m not sure where I am or which way I should choose to get to where I need to be! How do I make that decision? With Google Maps, the decision is made for you…however, there is no Google Map for life decisions.

Walking a life with God is sure and certain in some respects. In other ways, it is exciting, even scary. In those times we have to step out in faith…not knowing if our feet will land on solid ground.

Maybe our largest battle is in our minds. We know what God’s Word says. We know He does not change and He does not lie. Why then do we choose to believe the lies the evil one whispers in our ears?

Consider these:

I am your Father.

He’s not your Father. You are an orphan.

I love you with an everlasting love.

He doesn’t love you. Maybe everyone else…but not you.

You can come confidently to the throne of grace.

Grace is not for you.

I am your Provider. I give you everything you need.

He doesn’t provide for you. You earn what you get.

I am your Healer.

Healer? Then why are you still sick? Broken? Paralyzed?

He is our Comforter.

Then why is my heart still broken?

He delivers me.

Why then, am I still going through this horrible situation?

He is your salvation.

Really? You’re not worth saving.

He daily loads us with benefits.

Benefits? What does He give you?

He is always with me.

He abandons you.

He calls you blameless.

Blameless? You’re the biggest sinner around.

He is near.

Give me a break. I don’t feel Him near.

He never fails.

He has constantly failed you.

He is living water. I do not thirst.

You are always looking for something better. You aren’t satisfied.

We all have a choice. We can choose Him and the truth He speaks in His Word, or we can choose death…listening to the voice of the evil one.  It’s a “fork in the road” we come upon every day. Choosing to believe our Father or not.

The battles we face as Believers are not the same. The doubts or questions we carry are not the same. But the one thing that is ALWAYS the same is our Abba God. He knows we are flesh. He knows our frame. He loves us.

We can choose Him. We can choose life. The darkness of lies cannot stand in His light. Have faith. Stand strong.
