Brokenhearted

The righteous cry and the LORD hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles.

The LORD is near to the brokenhearted, and saves those who are crushed in spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous; but the LORD delivers him out of them all. Psalm 34:17-19NASB

He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds. Psalm 147:3NASB

The Spirit of the LORD GOD is upon me, because the LORD  has appointed me to bring good news to the afflicted; He has sent me to bind up the brokenhearted; to proclaim liberty to the captives, and freedom to prisoners. Isaiah 61:1NASB

Brokenhearted. They are all around us.

The widow/widower who longs for days gone by.

The parent who watches their child give themself over to sin.

The child who longs for love from a Mom…a Dad.

The young girl betrayed into slavery.

An unloved wife/husband.

The abused children.

The empty arms of a mother/father…their child’s life ended too soon.

A church whose members are marched outside and then gunned down.

A monastery in Burma bombed, and many innocents lose their life.

The heinous acts against Israel’s people.

And the list is longer and longer. My prayer book is pages and pages of those who are sick, brokenhearted, lost, without hope. My strength to continue praying is only in the Lord. I’m confident He is close to those who are so full of pain. And these scriptures proclaim that He will deliver all of us out of all our afflictions. They promise His healing. That He binds up our wounds and heals our brokenheartedness. He promises to save those of us with crushed spirits.

The Body of Christ is that…one body. When one part of the body suffers, we all suffer. Not that we walk this life morose…or without hope. But walk soberly, realizing our responsibility to our brothers and sisters. Allowing our hearts to break in the way our Father’s heart breaks.  Interceding and believing His Word.

We need not fear. Our Abba God is serious about protecting and saving those that belong to Him. Take heart. We can cry out to Him for ourselves and for His children. We can be confident…He will deliver…He will heal…
