Justice

I have a confession to make. So many times when I pray, I ask Abba for mercy…I’m afraid to ask for justice. Justice brings up connotations of punishment and unpleasant circumstances. I know that I needed to pray for justice in so many circumstances, but I couldn’t bear to ask for something I thought might “hurt” the person I was praying for.

Then in Abba God’s sweet kind way, He sent an answer. I was doing a Bible Study, and lo and behold, there it was. The Hebew word for justice, “tzedek” doesn’t mean “punishment”, rather it means to “put in right order” or sometimes “righteousness”…or “equity in judgment”. Now I can pray for that! That is one of the things I want the most for the people I pray for. That their lives would be in right order. The order designed by God for their good and for His Glory.

Sometimes the things that seem a little intimidating or scary really aren’t. We just need a better understanding of the word in its original language.

I really appreciate all the good Bible teachers who walk this life with us. Showing us sweet nuggets of truth as we grow up in Christ. Thank you for being faithful.
