Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love
Psalm 90:14 says
“Satisfy us in the morning with your steadfast love, that we may rejoice and be glad all our days”. Psalm 92:1-2 says “It is good to give thanks to The Lord, to sing praises to your name, O Most High; to declare your steadfast love in the morning.”
What if every morning we rose to meet the day with our Papa God’s steadfast love greeting us? What would it be like to open our eyes each morning and the first thing we see is the Father’s steadfast love? How would we respond to the first sounds of the day if we heard Him say “my steadfast love endures forever…forever my love is yours?”
But all this is true. God’s steadfast love does greet us each morning. His love is there to be experienced each morning. He is continually crying out, proclaiming his steadfast love. We are however woefully blind, deaf, and dumb to the Fathers overtures of love. We fail to notice the beauty He sends us in each day….the morning sunrise…birds singing like a choir…the provision of our needs….our security we enjoy….that He doesn’t allow the universe to fly apart and so much more…always more. We don’t hear, see, or perceive. We miss Him…We miss His steadfast love.
Those two words have been in “neon” before me in the scriptures. I’m reading the Psalms. Over and over I see “steadfast love”. It is as if the Father is saying, “If no one else loves you, I do.” ” if no one else sees anything of worth in you, I do”. ” If no one can see any beauty in you, you are beautiful to Me.”
“Hesed”, that precious Hebrew word that means “faithfulness, steadfastness”.
Isn’t that the real longing of our heart? That love of the Father that does not change? It is more than I can absorb. “Steadfast, hesed”. That love that will NOT change. That love we all are completely secure in….. That love only He, ONLY HE, has the ability to give. The place so secure we can dance, sing, rejoice before Him with complete abandon and not be ashamed because He loves us completely and perfectly. There is no shame before Him. He created us as we are. He proclaimed us beautiful and the recipients of His love. We are His. WE ARE HIS. His heart belongs to no other. It is ours. His Beloved.
So I return over and over to the Psalms…. To listen to the lover of my soul tell me again and again of His “hesed”. His precious, perfect, love..that is STEADFAST.
Precious, perfect love!
This is a stream of living water in the wilderness we’re traversing. Thank you!!!
Well said my friend!! May we all experience His steadfast love each and every day!
