Seeds and Faith
It’s spring in the Carolinas… spring with the promise of new life… flowers blooming… trees getting leaves… and COVID19… Why in such a beautiful season do we have this threat? This Granny has no answer.
But Father God has been speaking to me about seeds. I’ve been planting garden seeds in small containers to have plants to set out in the garden. The seeds are small and look dried up. They do not appear to have any life in them. If we didn’t already know about seeds, does it make sense to believe that large vegetable vines and plants will come from that tiny seed? That the seed will bring many many tomatoes, or beans, or peppers, cantaloupes, or watermelons? How can all that be contained in that dried up seed?
Even wilder, if you didn’t know what seeds could do, would you be willing to put it in the dirt? To fertilize and water it? Doesn’t that sound like a bizarre plan to get food? Yes. Unless you know about seeds.
If we had no knowledge of the potential in the seed, planting and caring for that seed sounds stupid. If Father God asked us to plant and believe for food, would we be skeptical? If I didn’t know about seeds, I’d be very skeptical. It doesn’t make sense from outward appearances.
But God. Our God. He knows what works. He knows. Always.
So if we can trust the process of planting seeds… can we trust God to teach us the way to go? Can He instruct us? Yes! A resounding yes! What is this trust? It is called faith. Faith in the God of Covenant. Faith in the Savior who laid down His life for us. Faith that His Spirit dwells within us. Faith that His mercies are new every morning. Faith that HE IS FAITHFUL.
Let’s be willing to do what He asks. Even if the circumstances might appear odd. Our God moves the Universe to answer prayer. He loves us. He loves us He loves us.
I’m determined to walk in faith and not in fear… cause just like I know about seeds… I know about God.

Another superb writing! Thanks for sharing with all of us!
As I read this I am looking at my tray of cantaloupes that I planted from seeds! Getting all excited to see the little sprouts of green coming up! How encouraging it is to know all we have to do is trust Him. He knows what’s best for us!!!! Thank you dear sister for writing these! I, for one, love them & you!!!!😘
Loved the writing! I know you personally and I know you know about seeds, but most important, I know you know about GOD because you’ve planted Him in your heart and I see and have seen many seasons of growth from that planting.
